Mexico Beach Vacation Rentals

A small town that stayed small.
Mexico Beach sits at the eastern edge of Bay County, where the highway runs close to the water and the buildings stop at two storeys. There are no high-rises, no chain hotels and no crowds to speak of — a city pier, a canal full of boats, and a long flat beach that the city protects with some of the strictest rules on the coast. It is a deliberate choice, and it is why people come back to the same house every year.

Why book direct? Lower price, better house.

When you book Mexico Beach vacation rentals through us instead of VRBO or Airbnb, you always get the lowest available price — owners set their direct rate below what the platforms charge once their service fees are added. More importantly, you get a real conversation with a local or owner. Tell us your group size, who’s coming, what matters most — and we’ll point you to the right house. That’s something no algorithm gets right.

Things to do in Mexico Beach

The City Pier
The landmark at the centre of town, and the one place on the beach where the animal ban is spelled out separately.
The canal
A working canal running back from the Gulf, lined with boats. It is also the western boundary of the Gulf County scallop zone.
The dog beach
The beach west of Canal Parkway is the only stretch in the city where a dog can legally be on the sand.
Strict by design
No fires, no glass, no animals east of Canal Parkway, and nothing left on the sand between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Scalloping
The Mexico Beach Canal marks where the Gulf County scallop zone begins. Seasons and closures differ either side of it.
Twenty minutes west
Gulf County beaches at St. Joe Beach and the peninsula, where beach fires are legal and leashed dogs are welcome.
